Your score summary is: Less than ideal

With a score that is just above the “poor health” rating, you are dangerously close to the edge. Your results indicate that, while you have one or two healthy habits, your lifestyle is ultimately unhealthy. You are currently considered as moderate to low health and could use some lifestyle changes.

The 5 Pillars of Optimal Health

MOOD

It can be immensely challenging to cope with mental health issues, especially if you struggle to find the right medication for it. This challenge is aggravated even more by circumstantial elements beyond your control. In a time where one in every four adults suffer from a mental disorder, it has become increasingly popular to treat these conditions with powerful medications that can sometimes do more harm than good.

FITNESS

Training hard means you need to recover just as hard. While you’re keen to reach peak physical performance, you need to allow your muscles enough time to recover if you want to avoid injuries from slowing you down. But extra-long recovery periods may not be possible if you’re training for a specific goal and can’t afford to lose the time. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to maximize post-workout recovery.

SKIN

Skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and sensitive skin can be frustrating to deal with. Not only does it feel physically uncomfortable (and can be downright painful), but it can be hard to find the right treatment for it. Unfortunately, this means that many people with skin conditions spend years trying to find the right treatments as well as thousands of dollars along the way.

SLEEP

Whether you struggle to fall asleep, stay asleep, or you have chronic insomnia, there are many different causes for sleep disturbances, including mental health disorders, medication side effects, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), caffeine, an uncomfortable bed, or a sleep-hindering environment. Finding out the cause of your sleep issues can be a challenge in itself, but it doesn’t always guarantee that you’ll be able to resolve it when you do. Unfortunately, this means that many people reach for sleeping tablets that may cause better sleep, but have the potential for addiction or side-effects like grogginess.

PAIN

Experiencing ongoing pain can cause many complications relating to disturbed sleeping patterns, loss of productivity, and fatigue. There are many reasons why you experience pain, but regardless of the cause, all you want is for the pain to stop. While many reach for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), this is not a healthy or productive way to deal with pain and often causes more harm than good.
