What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s one of 120+ chemical compounds naturally found in cannabis. Both hemp and marijuana are derived from cannabis, but each is a different strain. Marijuana is higher in THC content and lower in CBD, while hemp is higher in CBD with trace amounts of THC.
Is CBD Legal?
Yes, CBD is Legal. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp defined as cannabis and its derivatives with low concentrations of THC (<0.3%) from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substance Act, thus decriminalizing hemp on the federal level. CBD is derived from hemp plants and is legal in the US and most countries worldwide while only containing trace amounts of THC.
Our CBD extract is the first of its kind to the market. Curatio Life Sciences crafted a custom hemp strain that yields a specific medicinal profile of CBD and other powerful Cannabinoids (15%+), terpenes and triglycerides that work synergistically to unlock a wider set of benefits than you would get from CBD alone. Curatio Hemp naturally yields 3% THC that our scientists convert to CBN (1:1 conversion) through a patented oxidation process. Our robust CBD profile acts like THC as our CBN binds to the CB1 receptor and shares the same medicinal characteristics but without the psychoactive effects. We are confident that the power of our cannabinoid ratio (CBN, CBG, CBDv, CBC) will redefine CBD therapy. Compare 3% CBN to 0.3% THC — there is no comparison.
Entourage Effect refers to the synergism that occurs when cannabinoids and terpenes are combined to create a more powerful effect than CBD alone. Many still believe that THC is the most critical cannabinoid along with CBD in establishing the entourage effect. The entourage effect is most evident with a significant amount of THC, much more than 0.3%. Curatio’s formula includes 3% CBN, which in our case is a substitute for THC, without the psychoactive effects. Curatio has a very unique profile of secondary cannabinoids (CBN, CBG, CBC, CBDV 15%+) — the most robust in the market when compared to 0.3% THC products. Curatio’s Full Spectrum is better served with CBN as the CB1 connector.
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad Spectrum CBD oil is the first type of THC-Free CBD. Broad spectrum does not include THC which is removed (remediated) by not only stripping out the THC, but also removing some of the secondary cannabinoids. Most broad spectrum products only contain 1-2% secondary cannabinoids, thus the spectrum is “broad” not full.
CBD Isolate does not contain any other cannabinoids, terpenes, lipids or flavonoids. CBD when isolated is only the molecule. It comes in the form of a white powder versus a dark oil which is seen in full spectrum and broad spectrum products.
